Expression of Interest for Independent Board Members of GKB Impact Pty Ltd GKB Impact is a new innovative organisation dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that positively impact the Gnaala Karla Booja community. As we expand our reach, we are seeking two independent board members who share our vision and commitment to change. We invite expressions of interest from candidates with a strong background in financial management, governance, and/or business development. These positions will be remunerated accordingly in line with monthly/bi-monthly board meetings and will serve a two-year term.
The ideal candidates will bring experience and expertise to our board, contributing to GKB Impact's strategic direction and ensuring robust oversight of our operations. As an independent board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding our organisation through a period of significant growth and transformation while ensuring financial sustainability and effective governance.
Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the CEO in relation to financial and operational matters.Assist in the development and evaluation of GKB Impact's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with our mission and values.Ensure that the organisation maintains high standards of governance and compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.Contribute to discussions regarding commercialisation strategies and partnerships that enhance GKB Impact's offerings and market position.Leverage your professional network to support GKB Impact in its mission and to create further opportunities for collaboration and growth.Essential Qualifications: Experience in financial management, with a strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Proven expertise in corporate governance, including experience on boards of director or committee roles, preferably within the not-for-profit or social enterprise sectors.Demonstrated experience in commercialisation, including establishing or scaling business initiatives or ventures.A solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the local Aboriginal community.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.At GKB Impact, we value diverse perspectives and aim to create a board that reflects the communities we serve.
