Board Appointments (CEO & General Management) The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (SAFVC) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation supporting communities across the Barwon, South West and Wimmera areas of Victoria. The SAFVC was established in 1978 and in 2016 following the merger between Barwon Centre Against Sexual Assault (Barwon CASA) and Minerva Community Services (Minerva) has grown into a highly professional community-based service offering a wide range of free and confidential services for adults, children and young people who have experienced sexual assault or family violence.
The SAFVC is underpinned by feminist philosophy. Their vision is for a community free from sexual assault and family violence, and a society underpinned by the principles of gender equality, social justice and human rights.
The Board of SAFVC is seeking to fill 4 Non-Executive Director positions with candidates who will bring a diversity of demonstrated experience across the following areas:
Corporate governance and Executive level leadershipStrategic risk management and auditFinancial management ideally with CPA qualificationsCompliance and Legal Obligations ideally with legal qualificationsPublic Relations and stakeholder engagementAn understanding of for-purpose organisational governance requirementsAs a Board Director, you will be required to provide strategic leadership, hold a visionary mindset and apply business acumen through the understanding of sound governance principles. You will also possess a genuine desire to commit your time and capabilities to enhance the impact of the incredible work of the SAFVC to the communities they support. Remuneration is set at $10,000 (including super) for Non-Executive Directors.
