The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Fitter in our Plate Mill team based in Port Kembla . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
In this hands-on position, you will ensure that equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for safety, quality, and reliability. You will apply your mechanical fitting skills and experience to complete both complex and routine maintenance tasks, focusing on improving our equipment performance and reliability by understanding plant and equipment condition and then implementing corrective actions to restore as required.
What Will You Do?
You will apply your technical expertise to ensure that all mechanical equipment is maintained, as well as assisting with other Plate Mill department tasks. You will:
Isolate equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Inspect production and quality critical equipment and fault find. Resolve issues and fix any non-conformances. Seek ways to continuously improve our maintenance practices and strategies. More About You

Experience within a maintenance function. Experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
