Editor, Big Take Podcast (12 Months Contract) - Sydney Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We are seeking an experienced journalistic and narrative audio editor to work part-time on the ambitious podcast franchise, The Big Take, which includes a daily show and two weekly shows focused on Asia and Washington, DC. The narrative franchise, publishing 5 days a week, is focused on original, global and financial news. You will work 20 hours a week under the guidance of the Executive Producer, in collaboration with a larger, global editorial and production podcast team as well as alongside reporters and editors in Bloomberg's wider newsroom.
Responsibilities: Be responsible for factual representation, editorial direction, structure and narrative arc of Big Take podcast episodes. Work closely with show Executive Producer, Deputy and hosts on episode decision-making related to journalism, ethics and narrative storytelling in each episode. Be responsible for line editing episodes and final decision making on journalistic or audio calls. Pitch and develop episodes with producers, Bloomberg reporters and show leadership. Mentor and train show producers on journalistic and writing-for-audio best practices. Minimum Requirements: At least 8 years of journalism experience including minimum 5 years of editing experience. Experience in editing narrative storytelling. Excellent news judgment and a sharp editorial ear. Audio experience and experience working in a newsroom or similar environment.
