Position Summary We are seeking applications from nurses passionate about facilitating access to learning and development surrounding the safe and approproate use of blood and blood products. The Blood Transfusion Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational initiatives related to blood management. This educator will identify workforce learning needs, craft tailored learning plans and coordinate development opportunities. These may include organising in-service sessions, facilitating study days, conducting thorough needs analyses, identifying avenues for professional growth and development opportunities and providing Learning and Development representation during times of service development. MANDATORY :Registered Nurse holding current registration with NMBADemonstrated experience in acute area of nursingEvidence of recent clinical experience.Previous experience in support and development of staffEvidence of active participation in continuing education and self-development activities.A valid Police Check and WWCC  DESIRABLE: Highly desired - post-graduate qualifications in area of clinical expertise or educationAbility to participate in the performance improvement process.Demonstrated understanding of quality and safety improvement principlesEffective communicationStrong interpersonal skills.Good written and oral communication skills.Commitment to the principles evidence-based practiceDemonstrated leadership skills.Ability to perform as a sole practitioner.Self-directed.
