About DSTG Fishermans Bend Established in 1939, DSTG's Fishermans Bend facility has a rich history of pioneering research in aeronautical and defence sciences.
The site is currently undergoing a $209 million redevelopment to upgrade infrastructure and enhance research capabilities, ensuring it remains at the forefront of defence innovation.
Defence Strategic Policy.
The facility's focus on propulsion systems and materials testing is in areas such as: Propulsion Systems Testing: Conducting experiments to assess the impact of explosive forces on propulsion mechanisms.
Defence Strategic Policy Materials Testing: Evaluating the resilience of materials and structures under high-stress conditions, including blast scenarios.
Structural Integrity Analysis: Studying the effects of dynamic loads on various platforms to enhance durability and safety.
Who We're Looking For We are building a network of professionals with expertise in: Blast Physics: Experimental design and analysis, focusing on near-field, multi-material, and underwater blast phenomena.
Modelling and Simulation: Developing analytical and empirical models to predict blast effects and structural responses.
Platform Vulnerability Assessment: Creating tools to evaluate and enhance the resilience of defence platforms against explosive threats.
Protective Equipment Analysis: Assessing the impact of blast forces on personnel protective gear and associated injury mechanisms.
Training and Education: Delivering courses on fundamental and applied aspects of blast physics.
You'll need Tertiary qualifications in physics, engineering, or a related scientific discipline and be an Australian Citizen for security Clearance reasons.
