You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of blast and paint activities, including scoping, planning, execution, and quality control.
This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects meet both operational and safety standards, while driving continuous improvement and business development.
This is a hands-on leadership position, requiring a proactive and technically skilled professional with a deep understanding of blast and paint techniques, safety requirements, and team management.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee Operations: Lead all blast and paint operations and manage assets within various project and shutdown environments.Leadership & Resourcing: Manage, allocate, and develop teams to ensure project success and resource optimization.Project Liaison: Collaborate with the shutdown/project team, and contractors to align blast and paint activities with overall project objectives.Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, growing the department's capabilities and client base.Continuous Improvement: Conduct site inspections, field leadership, and develop strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.Issue Resolution: Act as the point of escalation for any operational issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.Safety Compliance: Maintain a culture of safety, adhering to and exceeding all safety regulations and protocols.Skills & QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 5 years in shutdowns/projects within the mining industry with a focus on blast and paint operations.Leadership: Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to build high-performing teams and lead by example.Technical Expertise: NACE Level 2 qualification (or equivalent), with deep technical knowledge of modern blast and paint techniques, materials, and equipment.Safety-Focused: Commitment to safety excellence with a strong understanding of mining safety standards.
