About Blackwater Mine :
Situated 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Dragline Operator to join The Whitehaven Coal family. The Dragline Operator will play a crucial role in our mining operations, working as part of a dynamic team to achieve production targets and maintain high standards of performance and safety.
What You'll Do Operate dragline and supporting equipment, as part of the world's largest dragline stripping operation, "delivering the right coal at the right time, every time", in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines Conduct pre-operational inspections of the dragline equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition. Perform routine checks tasks and report any defects or malfunctions to the maintenance team for repairs. Work closely with the mining team to achieve production targets and meet operational objectives. Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed to optimize productivity and efficiency. Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Identify and report safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel for corrective action.
