Having commenced high-grade underground mining and processing plant refurbishment activities, the aim is to be pouring gold bars at Paulsens by the end of 2024.

About the Opportunity The aim of the Technical Services - Engineering Team is to provide technical advice, mine planning, designs, scheduling and costing input and direction for the underground operation to safely and efficiently extract and deliver ore to the ROM pad within agreed timeframes and budget.
To round out our UG Leadership Team , we are looking for a Senior Mine Engineer .
Working in collaboration with the UG Manager or Alternate, you will lead the engineering team in generating, maintaining and optimising practical UG mine designs and schedules and monitoring performance compliance to plan. This position will also manage the statutory requirements for UG Ventilation.
Working 8 days on, 6 days off, key accountabilities of the position are to lead and mentor your team, whilst also being "hands on" to ensure the following:
Design, review and optimisation of mine designs and plans. Weekly plans and schedules are clearly and concisely communicated to operational personnel. Mining activities and expenditures are monitored and progressed against agreed plans, strategies, priorities, schedules and budgets. Resource/reserves for the operational teams and future projects are created in consultation with the Geology team. Collaborate with the Senior Mine Geologist regarding ore definition drilling programs that align with the strategic mining plan and budget. Contingency plans are initiated where risks are identified as having a high probability of negative effect on the operation. Working in a collaborative manner, with an expectation to have fun along the way, the Mining Underground Team will together, optimize development, grade and productivity! At times you may be involved in something new and different, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow, be a team player and support site priorities.
About You If you are an enthusiastic person who thinks outside the box, this opportunity is for you! With experience in underground operations with exposure to a range of mining methods and mine engineering, particularly with narrow vein mining, you will need the following:
WA Underground First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency and a degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution. Experience in the UG mining industry at the operational and planning level exposed to a range of mining methods and mine engineering; scheduling, drill and blast, mine ventilation and mine projects. Demonstrated strong leadership that is influential and collaborative in style, leading by example with a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependability. Expert user of mine planning and scheduling software packages preferably Deswik. Positive and motivated 'can do' attitude, able to work collaboratively, and with a diverse range of people across all levels who understand we are all in this together. Step up as UG Manager or Alternate as required. Experience working for a similarly sized company is desirable, particularly having an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that a junior company going through a period of growth faces.
