With continual growth and diversification, we are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team in Bibra Lake. You will be responsible for interpreting specifications from the Mechanical Engineers and Naval Architects and providing guidance and mentoring to the junior members of the team. You will provide technical authority in the area of drafting, drafting standards, ensure quality assurance of the team's deliverables, and serve as a point of contact for the engineering team, subject to approval by the Design Lead and Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities: Lead as part of a team. High level Pipe 3D modelling experience. High level experience with Schematics. Experience with 2D detailing and 3D modelling of HVAC. Understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment. Shipbuilding, trade, and design experience, with knowledge of maritime regulations, design concepts, and naval architecture principles. 10 years' experience in drafting for an engineering organization in a relevant industry. Proficient in defence programs, government acquisitions, and project systems. Proactive manner demonstrating strong commercial aptitude and interpersonal skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, while identifying work priorities in a constantly changing environment. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Solid understanding of production methods and practical application of design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail. Strong problem-solving and planning skills. Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment. Experience in or with production is highly sought after. Advanced AutoCAD skills. Experience using Shipconstructor preferred but not essential. Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant.
