General Summary for Biostatistician I:
Designs, plans, and executes biostatistical components of clinical studies. Uses sound statistical methodology to conduct studies, prepares the statistical components of protocols, and is responsible for the statistical components of reports.
Primary Responsibilities:
Applies knowledge of statistical methodology to ensure proper implementation of clinical studiesProvides statistical oversight across the whole clinical study. Develops statistical analysis plans and reporting specifications for clinical studiesContributes to clinical study protocols and clinical study reports. Reviews reports and underpins the results with statistical expertiseAccountable for the quality and delivery of the table, figure, and listing (TFL) packagesAnalyzes and interprets results from clinical studies using sound statistical methodologyBiostatistician I Role and Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development of statistical analysis plans including TFL shellsPerforms statistical analyses under the guidance of other statisticians or independently for simple clinical studiesAssists with the review of TFLs, tabulation datasets, and derived datasetsMay assist with the development and review of CRFs and edit specificationsMay serve as lead biostatistician for simple clinical studiesWorking knowledge of multiple statistical and therapeutic areas, the drug development process, SAS procedures, and good programming practicesAbility to plan, implement, and monitor the statistical processes for clinical studiesGood written and oral communication skillsProblems are varied and non-routine.
