About the Role The Biomedical Technologist, reporting to the Biomedical & Electronics Supervisor, is responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining biomedical and electronics equipment to meet medical safety standards.
Working as part of a specialized team, this role provides vital service and support across all Grampians Health campuses.
Key Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical and electronic equipment across Grampians Health campuses, with occasional travel required.
Perform acceptance testing and ensure equipment meets safety and functional standards (AS3003, AS3551, AS3760, AS2500).
Maintain electronic paging, communication, and telephone systems, ensuring they are operational.
Comply with Programmed Maintenance System, managing work orders, service records, and spares.
Provide in-service training to staff and support to Grade 1 Biomedical Technologists & Assistants.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of biomedical technology, cybersecurity threats, and ensure a safe working environment Skills & Experience Current Australian driver's licence and Electrical Safety Testing qualification (Test & Tag).
Diploma in Electronics, Electronics Trade qualification, or equivalent in electronic/electro-mechanical equipment.
Desirable: IT and/or cybersecurity qualification/experience; prior healthcare setting experience.
Knowledge of AS3760, AS2500, AS3003, AS3551 standards, and electronic systems.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, with strong time management and organisational skills.
Experience using hand tools.
