The Royal Children's Hospital's (RCH) Vision is "A world where all kids thrive". About the Role:This is a Permanent full-time position within the Biomedical Engineering Department. Your main responsibility will be the repairs, maintenance, inspection, testing, and calibration of a wide range of complex hospital equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, relevant Australian standards and Biomedical Engineering department policies and procedures.
Classification for this position will range from PH1-PH5 (base salary $64,806.04 to $80,932.80 per annum, plus superannuation).
What you'll achieve:• Compliance with the Biomedical Engineering quality system, Australian standards, laws, and regulations.• Work in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.• Perform routine maintenance on medical equipment.• Repair or arrange for the repair of defective medical equipment or medical systems.
Your skills and experience:• Formal qualifications in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.• Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia.• Experience in Biomedical Engineering is highly desirable.• An understanding of the healthcare sector.• Proficient computer skills, including networking, are highly valued.
About the Department:Biomedical Engineering provides a comprehensive range of technical and administrative services relating to the ongoing support of medical and laboratory equipment. Biomedical Engineering services encompass a wide range of activities, including equipment repairs and maintenance, medical device and electrical area testing, recall and incident investigation, advice on medical device acquisition and replacement, infrastructure guidance, along with cybersecurity for medical devices.
