This  full-time, permanent  role is scheduled to commence on  Friday, 31 January 2025 .

About You As a  Biology Teacher , you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.
To excel in this role, you will be able to: create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students  demonstrate the ability and qualifications to teach Stage 4 and 5 Science and Stage 6 Biology utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.

The selection criteria for the Science (Biology) Teacher position requires the applicant to explain, and provide examples if relevant, of:  a working understanding of, and overt commitment to the mission, purpose and ethos of a Catholic School in the tradition of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart secondary Science teaching qualifications to Stage 6 Biology demonstrated experience teaching science to secondary school students qualifications and teaching experience in other Stage 6 Science courses are highly desirable a clear understanding of curriculum and pedagogy and how these underpin successful engagement and learning especially in the education of girls ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to design engaging and differentiated learning experiences exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of effective contemporary pedagogies including digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning the ability to use diagnostic data, summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform 'next steps' for students.
ability to enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student excellent classroom management skills effective interpersonal, communication and technology skill openness to growth and development through professional learning experience which includes classroom observations willingness to be involved in extra-curricular aspects of the College.
You will have attained: a tertiary qualification in Education eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
