Mater Pathology is looking for a Billing Officer to join the team for 6 months! Based at our South Brisbane campus, this role will report into the General Manager – Mater Pathology.
This role is responsible for the processing of overdue debts as part of the Pathology billing team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. The role will be responsible for debt management.
The Billing Officer will work Pathology Billing Team to review, monitor and action overdue payments to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt.
Salary range: $35.42 - $39.62 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + an increase on 1 July 2024. What you'll be doing Ability to understand and interpret Medicare billing requirementsHigh level of skills in the operation of a Laboratory Information SystemProcessing of accounts and assist with the resolution of account queries for patient and Health FundsLiaise with patients, internal departments, Medical Consultants, Collectors, laboratory staff and external orgsniation relating to fees and chargesAbility to present analysed resultsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAn analytical mind and inclination for problem-solvingSound knowledge of pathology medicare rules and billing practicesThe application of initiative and judgment will be required for problem solving.Maintain a safe and clean work environment.Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers at all times and be able to reflect this on the phoneAbout you You will have a background in pathology or other healthcare services and experience in experience in Medicare billing.
