About The Role
The core purpose of a Bid Manager at the John Holland role will be to convert prospects to projects by leading a bid team in the submission of assigned tenders. This role will be based out of our John Holland Pyrmont office in NSW.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage the overall delivery of the project tender submission so that there is the maximum likelihood of winning and successfully delivering the project.
Tender management: Prepare various plans for project conversation and manage their implementation.
Assign and manage resources to deliver the tender within budget, time and quality standards; Monitor and guide workflow during the tender, review progress against delivery milestones and take effective remedial action as required.
Actively seek feedback from Clients and Project teams for project versus tender performance.
Review and report on tender performance.
Tender development:
Develop strategies for successful conversion of the prospect to a project.
Interpret tender requirements accurately and fully.
Develop and modify work processes, technology, or products to meet tender requirements; Identify commercial innovations to positively differentiate JH from competitors.
Ensure tender complies with risk, safety, quality, environment and community management requirements; Ensure submissions are accurate and complete.
Commercial and financial management:
Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue.
Ensure that the tender is financially viable, margin expectations can be met and risk complies with corporate guidelines.
Client relationship management:
Support the Business Development Manager to develop and actively manage client and industry partner relationships.
Negotiate terms and conditions of the tender with the client.
People management:
Provide direction, manage workloads, develop capability and foster a high performance tender team within a positive employee relations environment.
Stakeholder management:
Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged; Partner with and coordinate the input of internal subject matter experts and external designers, vendors and sub-contractors to ensure an accurate and financially viable tender.
Project launch:
Lead or participate in post tender negotiations, contract formation, award and project launch; Ensure effective handover from the tender team to the delivery team; Support the Project Delivery Manager through the project launch.
You Will Need
To Be successful you will need:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management or Construction Management.
Experience Essential - Extensive construction, project management, tendering or operations experience.
Business development and client relationship management.
Program management.
Leadership of teams.
Stakeholder management.
Contractual, legal, commercial and legislative compliance and regulatory frameworks, systems and key risks.
Document and record management.
