About the role: With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking a Bid Manager to join our Northern Territory team. Reporting to the Estimating & Procurement Manager with secondary line reporting to the General Manager, the candidate's primary responsibility will be leading the bid team through tenders and owning the bid management process. This role ensures that the tenders are developed to a consistently high standard, meeting the expectations of McMahon Services.
This role is a full-time Permanent opportunity based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Relocation cost is covered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities: Management of bids/tenders to ensure they are developed to a consistently high standard Employ critical thinking and problem solving skills to help interpret and respond to bid/tender requirements Establish a strong relationship with the pre-contract team to ensure the identified opportunities are understood and pursued Devise successful strategies to develop winning bids/tenders, considering McMahon Services' operating and profit margins required Assess and address the technical and commercial risks relating to ongoing bids Optimise and manage bidding budgets Negotiate with specialist suppliers and/or subcontractors Oversee the team during the bid process, ensuring internal deadlines are met and bids are submitted on time Attend the handover meeting from the tendering to delivery if the bid is successful Work with the key members of the project team and the client organisations to obtain the information required to compile the bid About you: To be successful in the role, you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in Building Construction or Engineering A minimum of 5 years experience in the building or civil construction industry or related industry experience with a demonstrated success in delivering financial targets, timeframes, planning and logistics management Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead change and develop/mentor staff Proven problem-solving ability, detailed orientation and effective inter-personal skills Experience in negotiation and client relationship building accompanied with a sound understanding of contract management and cost optimisation An interest in the sectors in which McMahon Services operates, couple with a willingness to keep up to date with industry trends, regulations and legislation Proficient in use of MS Suite Defence bid/tendering experience (highly regarded) As an employer who embraces equal opportunity and diversity, we strongly encourage female, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
