Metallurgist Production Support (HydroSX) | Olympic Dam | 8/6 This is a fantastic opportunity as a Metallurgist to develop your career at Olympic Dam and join the Processing and Refinery Production Support team. You will be collaborating with Operations, Maintenance and Technical team members to deliver excellence in plant operation.
The Processing and Refinery Team offers access to a wide range of unit operations including: Grinding, Flotation, Leaching, Copper solvent extraction, Uranium solvent extraction, Electrowinning, Electrorefining and Gold/Silver refining.
This role is based at Olympic Dam on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster and can be offered as FIFO ex-Adelaide, DIDO or Residential.
Reporting to the Superintendent Production Support - Processing and Refinery, you will be part of a team responsible for developing operating strategies, investigating performance variance and optimising plant performance.
In this role you will: Focus on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader and engaging the operation teams Foster effective and productive working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions Identify, develop and deliver small process improvement projects Conduct thorough investigations into plant performance issues and implement sustainable solutions Drive adherence to standardised practices to improve production, efficiency and recovery Anticipate changes in operating conditions against processing performance to evaluate the effectiveness of significant changes and communicate impacts on the operational plans Analyse and interpret production metallurgy data and provide technical guidance in response to production deviations Undertake plant trials and conduct detailed statistical analysis to provide meaningful and significant insight into the success of those trials About You: Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in 'Safety Leadership' Highly engaged, collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams Degree qualified in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering Relevant experience in Solvent Extraction is highly regarded How to Apply: Please apply before 18 December 2024.
