Your role as the Specialist Reliability Electrical Engineer will be to provide technical support to the fixed plant and field execution team by applying Reliability Centred Maintenance principles in driving defect elimination, improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to support safe and reliable operations. Establishing and maintaining relationships with the fixed plant & field maintenance, production, planning, inventory, and engineering teams will be critical to ensure success in this role.
This position is based at BMA Caval Ridge Mine and is offered as a 4/3 or 4/4/4/2 Roster - FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns or DIDO.
Key accountabilities include: Demonstrate alignment to BHP Charter Values and Our Code of Business Conduct. Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the Field Leadership program to continuously improve safety performance. Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Support reliability improvements and the elimination of defects in the end-to-end maintenance system inclusive of defects in parts, procedures, work quality and processes. Analyse performance metrics and benchmark performance across the site and other BHP businesses. Support the development of operating standards, procedures and work instructions (operational and maintenance). Analyse life of equipment to determine equipment capability and optimisation of maintenance activities. Develop and optimise maintenance strategies that enable plant safety, reliability and performance to be maximised. Develop and increase the capability of the maintenance execution team to drive safety, reliability, efficiency, quality of work and 'maintenance as a profession'; Closely monitor equipment performance in relation to cost, performance and reliability and complete targeted root cause analysis (RCA). Develop and implement subsequent improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness. Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team in regard to defect elimination and root cause analysis. Work closely with other functions within the organisation including Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE), supply and production departments. Deliver root cause analysis and "failure type" reviews. The successful candidate will have the following attributes: Electrical & Reliability industry experience in fixed plant or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering. Ability to influence, engage, & communicate with stakeholders effectively across all levels of the business, from frontline employees to senior management. Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions utilising continuous improvement processes. Ability to define and manage projects from conception to completion. High-level of experience with all Microsoft Office Applications & 1SAP. Ability to apply management of change & risk principles. Willingness & ability to learn, adapt to change. Experience as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within the mining industry will be highly advantageous.
