About Mt Arthur Coal Mount Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at Mt Arthur Coal Mine, which has an exceptional culture where success is celebrated, and work/life balance is valued.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the Maintenance Department to ensure the planning and safe execution of maintenance activities (including shutdowns) to optimize mobile plant availability and reliability. As an effective leader, you will be charged to develop and build the capability of the team. You will lead the team to operate in a climate of continuous improvement, being accountable and ensuring that all work is aligned with business critical success factors.
In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, positively influencing the Mobile Plant Maintenance function and shape the culture to ensure a safe, productive, quality, sustainable and disciplined approach to work.
The role on offer is a Monday-Friday residential position.

Ensuring a safe system of work to protect the health and safety of people and the environment in accordance with Statutory BHP requirements. Managing performance targets and plans aligned to the Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) processes. Lead and mentor a dedicated and high performing team, supporting and enabling them to deliver clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators. Build cohesive relationships with BHP functional teams to deliver common Key Performance Indicators. About You Working with a dynamic team dedicated to continuous improvement, your diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced. You will be empowered to unlock higher performance to make a real difference to our business.
You will be diligent, self-motivated and an excellent team player with positive relationship building skills and a high level of attention to detail. You will be able to demonstrate your exceptional leadership skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications or similar industry experience. Solid understanding of maintenance and engineering practices coupled with asset management principles. A forward-thinking leader with a strong focus on safety, inclusion and diversity, productivity and maximising the application of technology. Experience delivering outstanding results in asset maintenance. Experience in leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary diverse teams through effective communication coupled with strong operational discipline. Confident working through change management in a complex environment. Experience managing a high performance maintenance team.
