Bereavement Counsellor Part Time 24hrs/week. Welfare Worker Class 3(A) Year 1 - 5 Progress with purpose at one of Australia's largest health care providers Get ahead with salary packaging, benefits and professional development in a supportive team environment Be part of an interdisciplinary team that specialises in palliative care and progressive neurology Make a difference by supporting people to live well with aging, illness, end of life and bereavement Part time position with option of additional hours from time to time About the role Working as part of a vibrant team of music therapists, social workers, and pastoral carers, you will be responsible for assisting the multidisciplinary team to identify individuals in need of professional bereavement care, supporting individuals to strengthen their own informal support networks, and providing bereavement counselling through face-to-face, online, group, and individual sessions. You will also work with the Pastoral care team to provide Remembrance Services for family and friends of Calvary Kooyong patients and Remembering Lives sessions for Calvary Kooyong staff.

What you bring Commitment to holistic psychosocial spiritual care Tertiary qualification in health-related field Specialist training in bereavement counselling (e.g. Certificate IV in Bereavement Support) Registered with a professional association as a practicing health professional (e.g. Australian Social Workers, Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, Australian Counsellors Association) Advanced knowledge of Bereavement Support Standards, Clinical Practice Guidelines, and evidence-based practice for bereavement care Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and consumer participation Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation About Calvary We are a leading provider of quality, integrated care that puts our patients, residents, and clients at the centre of everything we do.
