Bengalla Mining Company (a member of New Hope Group) is a joint venture with a strong track record of achievement. Our focus is on maintaining strong safety, productivity, and profitability results. Operational since 1999, Bengalla is in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, and supplies international markets with approximately 15 Mtpa.
Bengalla is an open cut coal mine offering a residential lifestyle. The development consent for the operation provides the ability to mine through to 2039. We pride ourselves on the professionalism with which we pursue our goals and our strong links into our community.
The Role The Environmental Advisor supports the continued operation of Bengalla mine.
In this role you will:
Plan and coordinate environmental activities (including environmental monitoring programs).Prepare accurate environmental performance and compliance reports as required.Contribute to improving community and government relations by assessing and responding to community complaints and environmental incidents.Engage and direct contractors and consultants as required to assist with environmental management activities.Assist with management and maintenance of Real Time Environmental Monitoring Systems.Engage directly with near neighbours and landholders.Qualifications and experience Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, a related discipline or equivalent qualifications essential.Practical environmental management experience in large scale open cut mines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience in consultant and contractor supervision.Knowledge of NSW environmental regulatory framework.Ability to liaise with the community.High level computer literacy and competency with mapping software e.g. Mapinfo/ArcGIS.Rehabilitation and land management experience will be highly regarded.What we offer Bengalla values its people and their contribution to the operation.
