The Role:  We are currently seeking an experienced Belt Splicer – Level 2 & 3.  This is a FIFO Full time or Casual role reporting to the Site Supervisor working a 2/1 roster plus 1/1 roster servicing our regional South Australian sites from any capital city.  Day-To Day  General site maintenance and repair of conveyor systems Repairs and Maintenance of fixed plant Conduct PMO1 belt conveyor system inspections and audits inspections to maximise equipment utilisation Measuring and marking out splices and belt lengths Operate belt pulling and splicing equipment including winches, winders, stands, belt pullers and vulcanizer Constructing press equipment on site and vulcanizing splices including hot and cold Fitting and servicing scrapers Identify common belt damages/ faults and determine the method of repair Assisting on shutdowns with planned belt changes &  Assisting in the planning process for all belt setup and repair activities. Responding to breakdowns Belt Splicing and Installations of conveyor belts - fabric, ply, solid woven or steel – cord. As well as removal and replacement Hot and cold repairs Mapping and marking out splices; Construct vulcaniser press on site and vulcanizes a splice throughout the whole process Equipment and Shutdown preparation Identify common belt damages/ faults and determine method of repair Assist with creating splice reports Participate in and sign off on JSA's; safety observations or toolbox discussions The successful candidate will demonstrate:  We are seeking people who have life experience with suitable trade background or mechanical knowledge. Experience in the belting industry is ideal but not necessary. If you are willing to learn, this opportunity could suit you. A strong commitment to safety A proven work history in a high-intense labour role Available for away work (if required) A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously Proficiency in fault-finding and problem solving with a 'can-do' attitude Reliability and punctuality Able to follow and complete all quality control requirements including timesheets and all safety requirements Be willing to learn new skills and techniques A Can-Do attitude working in a challenging environment Must have current Drivers Licence and high-risk work license Must be able to pass pre-employment and random Drug & Alcohol Screenings Must hold current Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets  Strong commitment to safety and quality Police Clearance  Experience in heavy industrial environment i.e., mining Fault-finding and problem solving with a "can-do" attitude, with knowledge of the Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations.
