We are in an exciting growth phase, and as a result we are looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. It is a full-time, permanent role, and you can work from any of our NOR bases.

What's the role? The Behaviour Support Practitioner will manage a varied caseload, supporting people of all ages living with disability. This role will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in providing positive behaviour support services, developing behaviour support plans, and supporting the person with disability to live a good life. This role provides senior support to the business in various capacities, including clinical supervision, project, and portfolio work.
Working with a complex caseload, this position will demonstrate clinical excellence and best practice in supporting people with behaviours of concern, upholding their human rights, holistically improving their quality of life while maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships.
The Behaviour Support Practitioner will ensure all activities are effectively and efficiently carried out in accordance with the purpose and values, finance, and service delivery outcome measures.
What's required? MandatoryA passion for working with people with disability and specifically supporting behaviours of concern.Suitability approved as a core, proficient, advanced or specialist PBS practitioner or a willingness to work towards core level through an alternative assessment.Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or relevant degreeAt least 4 years' experience working with people who demonstrate behaviours of concern teamed with hands-on experience managing complex cases.Registration with relevant authority and special interest groups as relevantCurrent knowledge of clinical best practice and restrictive practices.Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to manage workload and reporting deadlines.Strong communication skills to raise and discuss sensitive topics.Demonstrated ability to work well with a team.Experience in the not-for-profit and/or disability sector.Understanding of implementing Positive Behaviour Support intervention in line with the NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018.Experience working as a support worker for people with disability.Experience working with families and relevant stakeholders.Understanding of a neuro-affirming framework.At the core, Therapy Focus' philosophy aims to celebrate difference in all that we do.
