Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum.
Job Summary:
As HSE Advisor, you will assist in interpreting and integrating health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations. You will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. Your work will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety.
Major Responsibilities:
Assists execution of the safety component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects. Assists development and implementation of Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training program. Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution. Interprets safety and health requirements and provides guidance on risk assessment and ESH program execution. Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area related to occupational safety or health and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience. General Construction Safety Induction (White Card). Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred. Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis. Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Be solution oriented with effective and efficient time management to deliver a quality product. Ability to work respectfully in a diverse team environment. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
Additional Information:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
