The Opportunity
Join our team as General Manager – Growth & Marketing. This is a new role created due to company growth. You will lead our Growth & Marketing function, reporting directly to the owner/founder.
Key aspects of this role are:
Autonomy: full autonomy for team including strategy, management & budget. High Impact Role – part of small leadership team reporting directly to founder/owner. Global Scope: build a growth marketing operation with global reach. Fast-Growing Company: startup 10 years ago, targeting $200-250m in 2-3 years. Build Brand – build a global brand that is the world leader in its niche. Serious Budget: target spend 1-2% of sales = up to $2m today and $5m in 2-3 years. High-Performance Team – build the best growth marketing team in Australia. Entrepreneurial Culture – founder-led business, fast-moving and ambitious. Reward – remuneration package to suit top talent. The Role
You will lead our Growth & Marketing function. Your mission will be to build and lead a world-class growth marketing team with global reach. This will be a highly targeted strategy to suit our global audience and premium engineered products. This is a high-growth environment with the budget required to deliver the plan.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead & manage team Customer marketing (CRM-based, educate, nurture, grow share of wallet) Brand & content strategy Content creation & organic social Marketing operations (incl. tech stack) Performance analysis, budget management & ROI optimisation Talent marketing & personal brand marketing for founder/owner M&A marketing (incl marketing/sales integration of acquired companies) A major transformation is required to take our business to the next level. Our brand positioning must transform from a local Australian supplier to a global brand that is the world leader in its niche market. Over 40% of our sales are international and this must increase to achieve our growth targets. We will grow both organically and by acquisition. We require a world-class growth marketing operation to support this global growth strategy.
Key initiatives in the first 12-18 months:
Build an A-player team Brand & content strategy (incl. new positioning & key messaging) New website (to match new brand positioning) New product marketing collateral Build customer marketing program (nurture & grow share of wallet) Replicate funnels for global reach (by region, language) Upgrade marketing tech stack The preferred location for this role is our Perth Head Office. We will consider a hybrid role for the initial 12 months for an exceptional candidate. We will provide relocation and visa assistance if required. You will need to build out your team (likely 6-8 in 12 months, 15-20 in 2-3 years), with an optimised mix of internal team, dedicated offshore support, and specialist agency / contractor project resources. We run the full Hubspot Pro stack including Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service.
About You
We are looking for a highly competitive growth marketing leader. You will be competitive, focused, and driven by winning. You will have a high-performance mindset with a strong focus on driving revenue. You will be analytical and use logic and data to drive decision-making. You will be highly accountable, hit deadlines, and beat targets. You will be digital-first, with strong tech capability, and a high need for control (ie, build an A-player internal team, only use external agency where necessary). You will be ROI-focused, always looking to 'test and measure', try lots of things, and double-down on what works to maximise every dollar.
Experience required includes:
10+ years relevant experience Previously setup or grown high-performance growth marketing team (not 'first rodeo') Track record of delivering outstanding revenue growth & customer acquisition Success building premium brands, ideally with global reach in niche markets The Business
Beaver is a privately owned, entrepreneurial company led by Josh Beaver. Its main business specialises in the design and manufacture of mineral process technology for the mining industry. It currently has a team of 110 and is growing at a rate of 30-40 per year.
