Purpose of Position: The Blacktown Early Access Team supports young people aged between 12-24 with moderate to severe mental illness in the Blacktown and Mt Druitt LGA's. This position provides a range of case management and therapy services to young people within the Western Sydney LHD – PCYMHS. The clinician will provide leadership and supervision to other staff and students as required, utilising their extensive experience and specialist skills to take on quality improvement and other projects.
Responsibilities include:
Assessment and management of youth with mental illness in both individual and group settings while working within a multidisciplinary team.Provision of education, consultation, co-therapy, and supervision within the BEAT team, other service providers, and relevant government agencies.Minimum Requirements: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.Selection Criteria: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA and endorsement in Clinical Psychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.Demonstrated skills and clinical experience in Mental Health in a community setting, including working with children/families presenting with moderate to severe emotional and behavioural problems.Demonstrated evidence-based skills in the assessment, early intervention, and treatment of children and their families presenting with complex mental health issues in a developmental framework.Demonstrated experience and high-level skills in the use of a range of standardised psychometric tools as part of a comprehensive assessment of clients referred to the service.Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to build therapeutic relationships.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families.Current valid NSW driver's licence and willingness to use it for work purposes.Please apply online by visiting the Western Sydney Local Health District Career Portal and searching for REQ542204.
