The Financial Control and Treasury team is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Reporting and Compliance Accountant to join their high performing team. In your new role, you will play a critical role in managing financial compliance intricacies across the institution and its subsidiaries. This role involves financial analysis, meticulous preparation and review of financial information and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the University's financial reporting and systems are maintained to the highest standard.
Your key responsibilities will be to: undertake BAS and GST analysis and reporting prepare monthly BAS returns prepare quarterly contractor superannuation payment provide GST and FBT advice to the University community franking Credit Returns documentation to support each claim provide tax project support assist with developing tax training for staff (GST and FBT) support the University's annual year-end statutory reporting project provide assistance to the Manager, Reporting and Compliance in liaising with and answering audit queries that may arise from the Audit Office of New South Wales collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect relevant sustainability data analyse and interpret data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement review methodologies employed to produce the sustainability data and document the understanding for critical analysis assist in preparing accurate sustainability reports based on the collected information engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input on sustainability initiatives About you strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods excellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including effective management of stakeholder relationships, commitment to ensure service excellence demonstrated experience in prioritising your own and your team workload to meet competing and ad hoc demands. Education qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related area Certifications Qualified Chartered Accountant / Certified Practicing Accountant or in the process of completing.
