Medical Specialists (Healthcare & Medical) Full time The role of the Unaccredited Anaesthetic Fellow at Bass Coast Health (BCH) involves providing direct clinical services within the anaesthetic department.
The Anaesthetic Fellow will be accountable for the delivery of anaesthetic services to public patients at all Bass Coast Health sites (Wonthaggi Hospital and Phillip Island Community Hospital).
This role encompasses clinical management and consultation services for public patients in need of anaesthetic input.
This will comprise a mixture of theatre cases, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic (PAC), and after hours and weekend on call.
Supervision of this position will either be direct or indirect, depending on the individual's experience.
The position also takes part in quality assurance activities within the department.
The scope of practice for those providing anaesthesia service consistently depends on the individual practitioner's knowledge, skills, and capabilities, as well as local infrastructure and jurisdictional credentialing.
In the context of rural and remote medical environments, individuals providing anaesthesia services are expected to offer a broad range of services to cater to the unique needs of their communities.
MANDATORY: Entitlement to work within Australia A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date Provision of valid Working with Children Check Provision of an NDIS Worker Screening Check Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health Directions Registration with AHPRA Auditable Aesthetic Registrar Level of Training (Formal ANZCA training pathway with or without completing Primary exam) or Overseas Specialist Qualification with auditable work as a specialist Anaesthetist (with or without ANZCA assessment) Mandatory ALS2 certification by approved ARC provider or will need to complete at earliest opportunity Valid WWCC Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care Understanding of Clinical Governance Commitment to BCH values Demonstrated commitment to rural/regional practice How do your skills match this job?
