BAS First Nations Non Executive Board DirectorLocation: Geelong, flexibleStatuses: Contract; Part timeDuration: 2 yearsThe Barwon Asset Solutions First Nations Non-Executive Board Director is appointed by the Barwon Water Board for the purpose of providing a First Nations perspective and input to the BAS Board and to actively participate in Board meetings with voting rights.In addition to providing a pathway for, and pipeline of, future First Nations board members that provides practical experience to develop governance skills relevant to public sector boards.

About the roleThe role will provide the opportunity to develop skills in the areas of public sector board governance including strategic planning, managing risk, audit, and oversight of the corporation's operations. Previous Board experience is not a requirement, and people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to apply. This development opportunity will come with the appropriate support, development training, and mentorship in line with the successful applicant's experience.
A natural communicator, you are adept at influencing others and build strong and meaningful relationships.You're someone with excellent business and financial skills, with an understanding of how to align business and community needs with environmental, sustainability and financial goals, and passionate to deliver real change.
Your knowledge of Aboriginal Culture and contemporary society will help in advising on complex and sensitive issues.
Terms of engagementThis is a part-time contract position to 30 June 2026 at a pro-rata rate.
