This professional building consultancy firm has an opportunity for a Building professional to join their team of 6 as a Building Consultant.
About the Company & the Position
The company offers all aspects of building consultancy services and specializes in defects and disputes.
80% of projects are with strata titled buildings and standard single residential properties, with a small amount of insurance repair building projects.
This position is a mixture of on the road (attending site to inspect buildings) and office-based (writing reports). You'll be working in a team of 6 - 4 other Building Consultants and 2 Admin Assistants.
The starting salary for the role is $100,000 - $110,000 + superannuation + vehicle (some flexibility depending on experience). There will be a performance-based salary review after 3-6 months of starting.
The hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Work Life Balance
This is a major selling point of the position.
The company director is passionate about work-life balance. The office closes strictly at 5pm, and there is no overtime or weekend work. If you're in a position where you have a high caseload of work, you will be assigned help to get through it.
There will be opportunities to progress to Senior Building Consultant for the right person, based on being skilled in Expert Witness Reports.
About You
We're ideally looking for someone with previous experience as a Building Consultant, or alternatively a Qualified Builder with a keen interest in Building Science, who is looking to step away from Building and into a Consultancy role.
Residential (strata and single unit) building assessing and report writing skills and experience. Experience writing expert witness reports is advantageous but not necessary. Excellent knowledge of Australian building codes and standards of practice. Personality-wise, we're looking for a team player. Someone who is happy to learn from others and also share their expertise with the rest of the team. Who can work collaboratively and take constructive feedback when needed.
