The functions of this position include the delivery of quality interventions with residents, including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy treatments and programs for individual residents in the following core areas of professional practice:MobilityFall and Injury Risk ManagementChronic Disease ManagementPain ManagementWorking Hours:This position is offering 3 days per week with flexibility available across working days and start/finish times.Duties:Supports a multi-disciplinary team approach that prioritises the physical and emotional wellbeing of individual residents across the residential care facility. This includes contributing to case conferences.Provides leadership, guidance and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners, ensuring needs of the resident are met in accordance with the residents' care plans, including therapeutic objectives.Models enablement of residents and provides direction and assistance to other staff members in performing their duties.Completes comprehensive assessments and regular reviews to identify residents' physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.Actively builds trusting relationships with individual residents that are based on dignity and respect to optimise cooperation, communicating in a manner that is appropriate to each individual's strengths and limitations.Listens to family concerns and supports their understanding of changing needs, referring them for additional support as appropriate.Skills and Experience:Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational TherapistAn understanding and appreciation of contemporary Occupational Therapy practice and issues in aged careAn ability to collaborate, negotiate and contribute toward multi-disciplinary team approach to care planning and deliveryAn ability to relate to older people with empathy, understanding and affording dignity and respectWillingness to obtain or provide proof of up-to-date Influenza & Covid-19 VaccinationsWillingness to undergo a pre-employment medicalWillingness to obtain National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) checkAbout Us:Baptist Care is a leading for-purpose Christian-based care organisation that supports thousands of people across more than 100 locations in NSW, ACT and WA.
