About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Systems Accountant to join our finance team based in Flinders Street, Adelaide reporting to the Accounting Manager.
The Financial Accountant is accountable for ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of financial transactions.
Key responsibilities include: Drive process improvement activities & projects within the team as required. Provide cover for the Assistant Financial Accountants and other team members in times of absence & peak periods. Liaise with various functions & business units in relation to Project Accounting activities. Support the Senior Financial Accountant with internal and external Auditors with queries at mid-year and year-end. Conduct function wide training as required. Responsible for supporting Project Accounting month end tasks and ensuring the process can close on time each month. Responsible for processing project transfers and journals and coordinating project accounting interfaces into the ERP system. Setting up the labour and overhead burdening rates in Oracle. Support the business with project setup and project accounting related matters. Be responsible for the monthly balance sheet reconciliation for PA related accounts, ensuring all reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with our policy. About YOU Degree qualification in relevant field. Completed CA or CPA qualification. Previous experience working in a large project will be highly regarded. Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels. Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the financial results of the business and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans. Ability to work in a team environment and lead and support team members by adapting your style to account for individual differences and motivators. Ability to liaise and maintain active internal and external network of business partners and peers.
