About the role
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with an understanding of software engineering principles and commercial experience using Spring, Java and ideally Kotlin, to join team Megaport. You'll be working in one of our product-focused agile teams, enhancing and maintaining our existing API platform, integrating with external and partner systems and helping to design and deliver new features.
What You'll Be Doing Working in a highly collaborative environment to maintain and improve Megaport systems. Designing and building RESTful APIs using OpenAPI & Java/Kotlin/Scala. Designing and documenting systems using C4. Participate in Megaport's agile development process. Supporting quality assurance and release processes. Keep abreast of appropriate technologies and best practices. What We Are Looking For 3+ years of experience developing software in one or more of the following: Java or Kotlin (Scala is a bonus). Experience in building services and tools in the context of web applications. Experience working with relational databases using SQL. Enjoys working in a fast moving collaborative environment. Understanding of best practices and software engineering principles. Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills. An ability to reason logically, question appropriately and present technical information clearly and concisely. Bonus: An active GitHub account/examples of prior work. Bonus: Knowledge of Single page application frameworks e.g. VueJS, AngularJS or React. Bonus: Experience/Knowledge about networking. Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 a year
