As one of Australia's largest profit-for-members superannuation funds, we always remember whose money it is and whose future we're looking after. We work to reimagine a new way forward for our 1.1 million members and their communities.
Your New Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Counsel to join the Legal team that supports Aware Super's Investments team. You will have 2+ years of experience preferably in private practice or in M&A or other transaction-based areas of Banking or Professional Services. You will have experience or the capability to review and negotiate NDAs, Due Diligence letters, and other investment-related collateral. Prior experience in reviewing/negotiating investment-related collateral such as deal term sheets, equity and debt commitment letters, and subscription agreements would be preferred and highly advantageous to succeed in this role. Please note, this is a 12-month parental leave contract opportunity.
How do you exceed our expectations? The idea of being part of our growth is exciting and you want to play a pivotal role in making super simple. You have tertiary qualifications in law and admission to practice as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. You bring 2+ years of experience (preferably in private practice) in M&A or transaction-based roles in Banking, Private Equity, Property, or Infrastructure. You have knowledge of Superannuation Law and the Corporations Act and their requirements. You have strong communication skills across all levels of stakeholders and the ability to influence, negotiate, project manage, and juggle multiple priorities. You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn, and grow. Employee Experience We understand that not everyone works in the same ways. We value flexibility and know that it helps you manage work and life.
