Your role Army helicopters are packed with sophisticated circuitry and systems' and keeping them at the peak of operational performance is critical to Army capability. So, if you're interested in electrical technology, you'll love learning how to maintain the state-of-the-art electronics that control our aircraft. The helicopters you may learn to service include the Black Hawk, Chinook and ARH-Tiger (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter). Your duties include, but aren't limited to: Carry out scheduled and unscheduled servicing, overhauls and repairs to aircraft electrical instruments and electronic systems and equipment Operate and maintain test equipment and special tooling associated with the trade Operate and maintain workshop plant, equipment and vehicles Act as crew members during flight testing to diagnose faults Identify and investigate defects and recommend remedial action in the areas covered by the trade Maintain technical manuals and maintenance documentation for aircraft and related equipment You will enjoy benefits including, but not limited to: Free medical and dental, including access to allied health, rehabilitation, and mental health specialists Competitive salary package with incremental salary increases as you gain experience Generous Superannuation of 16.4% - a huge 5.4% over the Australian standard A subsidised home loan or rent allowance Allowances and bonuses which recognise specialist skills and employment types The ability to package your salary Job security Career progression and development Good work/life balance Travel opportunities Excellent social and fitness facilities Paid training Salary In the Army you'll get paid a competitive salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications. Upon commencing training, your starting salary will be approximately $56,385 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation and your pay will increase as you progress through training. On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you could earn $84,710 per annum plus generous super. Location Following your initial military training, you could be posted to one of the many Army bases and units across Australia. The majority of these positions are located in QLD, NSW and the NT.
