Our Quality and Mission Assurance team enables our programs and functions to deliver exceptional products and services that not just meet but exceed our customer's expectations. This includes performing audit and assurance activities, supporting process improvements, approving suppliers, managing risk and facilitating best practice across the organisation. They also manage our Quality Management System which provides the framework required to comply with the company's regulatory, contractual and legislative obligations.
Your Role As our Aviation Safety Specialist, you will ensure that our Aviation Safety Management System (AvSMS) complies with CASRs, DASRs, and international standards. A key aspect of your role will be overseeing the integration of these standards into our Special Purpose Aircraft (SPA) program, which has been delivering comprehensive support to the Royal Australian Air Force's 34 Squadron since 2001. Based at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra, our SPA team manages maintenance, training, and logistics for a fleet of Boeing BBJs and Dassault Falcon 7Xs Business Jets.
Your duties will include:
Managing regulatory compliance Overseeing the AvSMS Conducting safety incident and accident investigations Driving safety performance improvements across the board About You You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in aviation safety, ideally within the Defence or Aerospace sectors. Proficient in accredited Aviation SMS and incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM, MEDA, or TapRoot, you hold aviation-based engineering or maintenance qualifications and have a thorough understanding of Civil or Defence Aviation Safety Regulations. Skilled at thriving in dynamic and diverse environments, you are a strategic thinker with exceptional risk assessment skills. Your expertise in managing complex safety programs and implementing best practices significantly boosts both safety and operational excellence.
