Detailed Job DescriptionAbout the Role: We are seeking a skilled Medical Officer to join our team at Serco's Australian Defence Force Health Services. As a civilian General Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality clinical care to Defence personnel across Australia.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver medical services, including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments, aviation medicals, and aircrew clinical health management to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager, and Commanders of units.Work in an outpatient setting or as inpatient care within a hospital or medical centre as required.About the Team: Serco's Australian Defence Force Health Services team, in partnership with Bupa, provides integrated healthcare services to Defence personnel across Australia. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services to support the Defence Force's operations.
What We Offer: A dynamic and supportive work environmentThe opportunity to work with a diverse team of healthcare professionalsA comprehensive benefits package, including work-life balance, flexible working arrangements, and access to professional development opportunitiesRequirements: Current unconditional and unrestricted General registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational RegistrationMinimum of 2 years' full-time post-graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 yearsRecent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with both AHPRA and Defence requirementsCurrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certificationSecurity Clearance: You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
