Aviation Logistics Specialist

As a member of the Aviation Logistics Specialist (Movements) mustering, you'll work as part of a team to provide critical airfield services to support a range of ADF activities, such as humanitarian and disaster relief missions, conflict operations, and multinational exercises.
What you'll do No two days will be the same in this dynamic role, as you undertake a range of Aviation Logistics Specialist tasks, including:
Conducting air terminal operations to support military and commercial-type aircraft, including:Processing, briefing and coordinating passengers Preparing and consolidating cargo (inclusive of explosives and other dangerous goods) Planning and documenting aircraft loads, including making calculations Configuring and then loading/unloading aircraft Providing airfield ramp services, including coordinating airfield parking, marshalling aircraft, and providing ground power. Refuelling a range of ADF and visiting aircraft , including:Driving aircraft refuelling vehicles, and operating onboard hoses, pumps and measuring systems Coordinating refuelling requirements with aircrew and technical staff Replenishing aircraft refuelling vehicles after use Testing aviation fuel to ensure that it meets quality standards. Planning, controlling, and reporting on the movement of people and cargo , including:To, from and within operations, exercises, and other activities, via road, rail, sea and air routes Working with members of the Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army, and in coordination with our international military partners. Operating specialist material handling equipment , including:Forklifts and aircraft loaders Other machinery, such as aircraft ground power units. Other duties , including:Managing vehicle fleets and driving standard and special purpose vehicles Providing training and mentoring to other Aviation Logistics Specialists, once you have achieved the required levels of knowledge, skill and seniority. You may also get the opportunity to travel (as part of a team) to undertake tasks from other locations within Australia and/or overseas.
In-service information In the Air Force, this role is known as Movements (MOV) .
