The Opportunity
Derwent Waters Retirement Living is a vibrant retirement village located in Claremont, and we are looking to add to our hospitality team As a highly motivated Cook, you will enjoy working in a friendly environment to prepare, cook and deliver high-quality meals to our residents. You'll be a great communicator, enjoy being hands-on with kitchen preparation and enjoy supporting residents' well-being. The residents are the heart of everything we do and the reason we come to work every day, their happiness is key to a successful overall operation and we are looking for someone who values this as much as we do. This is a great position for someone with a background in kitchen hand, cook or chef roles.
This is a casual position to assist our team with filling shifts.
What we offer$34.55/hr including 25% casual loading + relevant entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances + superannuation A view to move to permanent part-time position A great place to start or further your hospitality career Employee Referral Program, earning you up to $500 Further career development (e.g Certificate III in Commercial Cookery to develop into a qualified Chef) The opportunity to cross-train into other roles around our village, boosting your current skill set and shifts. Be part of a friendly and supportive team in a role that offers genuine job satisfaction You willAssist in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of meals by following pre-set menus and recipes Provide restaurant-style kitchen and dining service Ensuring daily quality meal service to residents and visitors of the surrounding Aveo Community Daily monitoring of food safety plans and following all Food Services procedures Work in a small team to deliver great service What you'll bringKnowledge and/or experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings highly desired (e.g experience in food prep roles) A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you) Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required) Who we are
