In this position, you will be responsible for providing financial services for a billion-dollar gold project.
This role calls for an individual who is proactive, hands-on, and possesses a can-do attitude.
The ability to take initiative and assume responsibility will also be essential.
The role is located in our Perth CBD office.
Your Key Responsibilities Update, maintain and report the project cash flow forecast for direct and indirect costs.
Prepare and report monthly accruals for direct and indirect costs.
Payroll Accounting Management and Reporting.
Assist with ensuring the integrity of project cost data captured in the ERP system, including prompt rectification of coding errors.
Assist and support internal Clients and key stakeholders with improving and developing accurate project financial reports.
Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly payment claims.
Provide support to the finance and project controls teams during all internal and external audits.
Support the management of project accounting activities including revenue forecasting and revenue recognition.
Ensure revenue forecasts and margin recognition is in accordance with Accounting Standards.
Analysis of cost control data to transfer into project financial reports accurately and diligently.
Assist in the payment of project foreign currency invoices.
Review as required sub-contractor payment claims as a supporting role to package engineers, ensuring compliance with the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2021 Western Australia.
Analyse project financial data and provide recommendations for improvements.
Collaborate with management, project controls and package engineers to ensure accurate project forecasting, accruals, and reporting.
Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports for presentation to the leadership team ensuring that the month end reporting timeline is met.
Compliance competence to Australian Accounting Standards.
What you 'Can do' Tertiary qualification/s in Accounting/Business/Commerce or similar field.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Problem solving skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously and as a strong team contributor.
Advanced analytical skills and advanced Microsoft skills, particularly Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively exercise initiative and discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Experience preferred with asset management in the mining industry.
Experience with Microsoft D365 and In Eight would be advantageous.
5+ years of experience in project accounting or related field.
Experience working on large scale construction projects.
Experience in cost reimbursable construction projects (labour and non-labour costs).
Hands on with a can-do attitude.
Ability to use initiative and take responsibility.
