About the office/schoolThe Information Technology Office plays an integral role in the success of the University ensuring the national provision of technology solutions that enable Learning & Teaching, Research and Administration across our University.
About the roleThe Audio-Visual (AV) Specialist is responsible for providing first and second-level support to university customers and stakeholders across a range of digital services including, but not limited to, learning and teaching facilities, audio-visual technology, lecture recording, synchronous education technology and meeting room technology. The role also plans and manages national audio-visual life-cycles, working with 3rd party AV suppliers to action upgrades and repairs.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support essential infrastructure used in lecture theatres, flat-floor classrooms, networked and online solutions used for learning and teaching, and meeting rooms.Utilise typical industry frameworks, such as ITIL or ITSM, to manage the support of AV services and to ensure that problems are resolved quickly, and that continual improvement occurs.Utilise data and metrics to measure the performance and adoption of AV services.Project Manage AV maintenance, new installations and upgrades, with internal and external partners and communicate project status, activities, and achievements.Utilise technical knowledge and policy to triage help desk requests for an immediate solution or forwarding to more senior staff.Provide a high level of support and advice to the staff and students of the University, using judgement and initiative to solve a diverse range of problems.Provide end-users training, develop online resources, deliver consultancy advice to Employees and students and end-user support as required.Qualifications, skills & experienceDegree qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent level of education, training and/or experience.Demonstrated extensive experience as an Audio-Visual Specialist in a complex organisational environment.Proven experience in engaging / managing 3rd party AV Suppliers.Demonstrated ability to support a diverse range of applications and technologies, such as AV equipment and management systems, Zoom, Teams, and other video and audio recording solutions.Hands-on ability to perform basic technical maintenance such as replacing projector globes, installation of cables, and peripherals, etc.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the ITIL framework.BenefitsGenerous training and development opportunities.Friendly and collaborative working environment.Fast paced environment with opportunity for professional growth.How to applyPlease apply online with a resume and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
