Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $73,500 plus 11.5% superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week
Mode: Full-time
Location: 1/1 Nexus Street RAVENHALL, VICTORIA - 3023
Experience required: Minimum 2 years' experience in relevant roles
We are seeking skilled Motor Mechanics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle engines and mechanical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive technology, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Tasks and responsibilities included but not limited to
• Fault Detection and Diagnosis: Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in engines and vehicle components using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Dismantling and Assembly: Safely dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, and other mechanical systems. Reassemble components following repairs, ensuring all parts are fitted correctly.
• Parts Repair and Replacement: Assess and repair worn or defective parts, replacing them as necessary to restore vehicles to optimal working condition.
• Scheduled Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure vehicles operate smoothly and comply with environmental regulations.
• Testing and Adjustment: Conduct thorough testing and adjustments on repaired mechanical parts to confirm they meet performance standards.
• Use of Technology: Utilize computerized diagnostic systems to assist in identifying issues and verifying the functionality of vehicle components.
• Vehicle Inspection: Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance, issuing roadworthiness certificates when applicable, and outlining necessary repairs for compliance.
Qualifications:
• Certificate III or IV in Automotive
Skills and other requirements:
• Proven experience as a motor mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documents.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
