Details: As an Apprentice Automotive Body Repair Technician, you will be required to undertake and competently complete trade training in accordance with the apprenticeship requirements as set out in the Automotive Body Repair Certificate. You will be required to work across all Transport Canberra's workshop sites as directed; providing you with all the maintenance and/or repair training and exposure to competently complete your trade certificate. You will demonstrate an enthusiastic willingness to learn and will actively participate in all rostered shifts.The Transport Canberra Fleet Services team is focused on providing a high level of customer service and sustainable transport outcomes by providing clean, safe, and on-time availability of bus fleet to meet network operational requirements.Duties:Actively participate in the training and development as an apprentice to obtain an Automotive Body Repair Trade Certificate, whilst meeting the requirements of the appropriate CIT course, including completion of modules and satisfactory attendance.Under supervision or in a team environment, undertake training to carry out vehicle body maintenance and/or repair activities to the full range of Fleet vehicles owned and operated by Transport Canberra.Promote a high standard of vehicle body repair and maintenance services while adhering to safe working practices.In a team environment, prioritize work activities to ensure that peak vehicle availability is met while ensuring quality work standards are maintained.Liaise with other work groups and/or individuals to ensure tasks are completed within a designated timeframe, considering quality control measures.The position is generic across Transport Canberra workshops and applicants may be required to move within Transport Canberra to any designated location as directed based on operational needs.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
