Within the department, the Digital Solutions Division contributes to delivering a wide range of digital programs and initiatives that support better digital experiences and improved outcomes for the department and its customers.
We are seeking experienced and motivated Automation Testers to support the delivery of ICT projects within our Chief Information Officer Division.
Reporting to the team leader, the Automation Tester will work as a member of an agile delivery team delivering new or improved enterprise-class IT systems.
In a predominantly Microsoft and Azure hybrid cloud technology environment, you will participate in agile ceremonies and perform a range of software development tasks as they relate to automated testing.
You will work closely with Software Developers, Software Testers, Scrum Masters, System and Business Analysts, and Delivery Managers.
You will work independently under broad direction and may be asked to:
Develop and maintain complex automated UI and API software tests in C#.
Execute, monitor, and report on automated tests and manage defects.
Follow best practice coding techniques and patterns when developing automated tests.
Participate in the department's delivery framework including Agile ceremonies.
Update and maintain a Test Data API to enable test data creation.
Adapt UI and API tests for use during load and performance testing.
Work closely with members of their Agile team including Developers and Testers to understand the functionality under test.
Assist with upskilling new or junior automated testers.
Minimum Requirements:
Extensive C# programming experience in large complex environments that utilise Agile iterative development.
Extensive experience developing and executing API and Web Automated tests using RESTful API, YAML CI / CD, Azure DevOps, GIT, Test Data API, and Selenium Grid.
Demonstrated experience using coding patterns and principles such as SOLID, Page Object Model, SINGLETON, and Page Factory.
Strong personal qualities including well-developed communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, sound prioritisation, time management, and organisational skills.
Willingness to use an existing custom Test automation framework, using a MS technology stack.
Experience using Docker container and Kubernetes, and the ability to adopt these technologies for Test Automation.
Previous experience working on DEWR IT systems or experience in a government agency is highly desired.
