The Automation Engineer position is within Consumer banking and focuses on the mortgages technology of the business. Business Banking domain delivering Business Lending technology solutions for the bank's customer via both online and staff facing channels. The applications delivered are group critical which are enterprise applications supporting critical digital and staff facing application across the bank.

The purpose of this role is to enhance our overall Test automation and DevOps capability. The successful candidate would be expected to work closely with Automation/DevOps engineers and development team to deliver on continuous improvements in test automation coverage and DevOps practices.

How will I help?

As Automation Engineer you will be responsible for:

Advocate for and enable modern delivery approaches to automation such as in-sprint and automation first.Design automation test frameworks for diverse technology stacks utilising the latest in automation tooling.Assist in the creation of test automation strategies.Design, develop and maintain automation scripts across a variety of tools and languages.Research, investigate, socialise, and aid in the implementation of appropriate new and emerging technologies and approaches via internal innovation of our automation, quality engineering, performance, and DevOps communities.

What do I need?7+ years' experience in similar role.Utilisation of test automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright.Experience in OBP is highly desirable.Track record in delivering automation solutions for web, mobile and micro-service applications.Strong commercial experience in object-oriented programming utilising languages such as Java.Good understanding of automated API testing using tools such as Rest Assured, Rest Sharp.Good understanding of GIT and versioning.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Experience working in large and complex organisations.Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.Contribute to agile project activities and techniques such as stand-ups, iteration planning and retrospectives.
