About the Role Due to our continued growth, we are seeking Automation Engineers at all levels for our Perth CBD office.
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients by offering end-to-end design solutions and ensuring the successful execution of project requirements.
You will be involved in designing High Voltage (HV) Substation Automation systems and contributing to various phases of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Design HV Substation Automation systems from concept to detail.Prepare and review documentation including specifications and reports.Perform automation software and hardware configuration and testing.Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).Undertake site visits and commissioning activities.Prepare and deliver engineering reports utilizing sound engineering principles and templates.Ensure compliance with quality procedures through QA checks and audits.Investigate tasks to ensure adherence to client, Australian, and international standards.Collaborate with other automation team members and take guidance from senior team members.What You Need to Succeed A minimum of 3 years' experience in design, development/configuration, testing, and commissioning of HV substation automation and/or process control systems.Experience with the configuration and commissioning of HV substation gateways, RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, and network equipment, including brands such as Cooper Eaton, SEL, CGI Logica, Foxboro, GE Grid, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, and Cisco.Site commissioning experience with HV substation automation or process control systems.Knowledge of HV substation protection systems and schemes is advantageous.Proficiency in standard substation protocols including DNP3 and Modbus; familiarity with IEC60870-5-104 and IEC61850 (MMS & GOOSE) is a plus.Experience in ELV installation (cubicle wiring and cable termination) is advantageous.Willingness to travel for site commissioning trips.Proficient in design and document preparation.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.Competent in automation software and hardware configuration.If you are ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a dynamic team making a significant impact in the power engineering sector, we want to hear from you!
