Your opportunity As our Automation Design Engineer, you will utilise your extensive control systems background as you deliver the design of real-time control system hardware and software systems for our network's master station, substation, generator and lines projects.
You will provide quality technical engineering support to the team, including delivery of designs, verification and design support of commissioning, operational and maintenance activities on projects.
The positions can be based at Toowoomba, Townsville, Rockhampton, Maryborough, Brisbane. Amplify your impact in your day to day in this diverse role, where you will:
Design, configure, test and provide technical support for RTU/IED/HMIs such as CGI RTU, SACS, Foxboro RTU, and SEL RTAC SCADA devices.
Also includes, SCADA systems such as GE PowerOn and various simulation software.Integrate Substation and Distribution plant for data aggregation, automation, and broad network control.Work with Linux-based systems for various control and automation tasks.Utilise programming languages including IEC-61131, C, C++, Shell Scripts, Python, SQL and LUA.Implement communication protocols such as DNP3, MQTT, MODBUS, OPC, RS232/RS485 serial, and IEC 61850.Deliver quality designs, verification and design support for commissioning, operational and maintenance activities on assigned projects.This is a highly collaborative role working as your own RPEQ or under direct RPEQ supervision, with a variety of key stakeholders.
Your day to day will be delivering designs with support during construction, preparing technical sketches, reports, and estimates for assigned projects.
The remuneration for your new role is from $151,765 for a 9 day fortnight, or from $171,495 for a 10 day fortnight + 14.75% superannuation.
What you'll bring A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering that meets the qualification requirements to become a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency.Experience as a Control Systems design & support engineer with power generation or process control industries.We'd also love you to have:
Project experience with RTUs, SCADA, HMI's, databases, industrial communication protocols and interfacing software.High level object oriented programming languages is desirable.Sound knowledge of automation systems construction, installation, testing and commissioning requirements, maintenance and operations of high voltage plant and equipment and secondary systems.Developing knowledge and experience RTU/PLC hardware and software, DNP3, Modbus RTU / TCP and their application.Knowledge and use of software and applications to produce detailed design, management of design and engineering data.What matters most?
