About the role
WesTrac is currently seeking Auto Electricians to join our General Workshop Rebuilds section at our Tomago branch to provide essential support to our large customer base in NSW.
As an Auto Electrician, your role will involve working on various auto electrical systems and components, diagnosing faults, and conducting repairs, maintenance, and installations for CAT machinery. You will be responsible for installing and testing electrical systems on a range of machinery.

Rosters - Multiple roster options are available!
Option 1: Monday – Friday (rotating days/nights)
Monday - Friday (48 Hour week + rotating days/nights)
Roster Pattern: 5D2O x2 5N2O x2
Day shift: 06:00-16:30 & Night shift: 18:00-02:30
Annual earnings up to $146k + super*
Option 2: Lifestyle Roster – WORKING ONLY HALF THE YEAR!
Complete your nights in 1 swing, every 3 weeks!
Roster Pattern: 5D4O 5N4O – work 15 days out of 28
Day shift: 0600-1830 & Night shift: 1800-0630 (12.5 HR shifts)
Annual earnings up to $131k + super*

Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify electrical and electronic faults in CAT machinery.
Assemble and install electrical and electronic systems on a variety of CAT machinery, both new builds and rebuilds.
Efficiently repair and replace faulty electrical components to restore machinery to optimal working condition.
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and reliability of electrical systems.
Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols to prevent accidents and uphold a safe working environment.
Ensure high-quality workmanship in all repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks to meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Skills & Experience
Trade qualified Auto Electrician with post trade experience and/or extensive industry experience.
Caterpillar equipment experience and product knowledge will be highly regarded.
Experience with Auto Electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads and delegate effectively.
