Job DescriptionThe new Auto-Electrician role with Newhaul's Workshop in Geraldton exists to maintain, service and repair various electrical and telematics systems in line with manufacturing specifications and statutory requirements to enable best possible equipment availability and utilisation.
Reporting directly to the Workshop Managers, the responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Carrying out maintenance service to repair various electrical and telematics systems in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.Carrying out maintenance, service and repairs to various automotive air conditioning systems in accordance with Arc requirements.Utilising maintenance systems, diagnostic testing equipment, hand tools, and workshop equipment, ensuring a high level of technical competence.Systematically diagnosing faults in heavy vehicles, prioritising safety, accuracy, and efficiency within specified timeframes.Promptly reporting new issues or faults to management, emphasising a proactive approach to addressing potential problems.Effectively managing directed work orders, responding promptly to both driver and workshop repair requests, ensuring a streamlined and efficient workflow.Undertaking on-the-job training and providing training to others as required, emphasising commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.Completing required workshop documentation, paperwork, and in-system data accurately and promptly, ensuring data integrity and compliance.Operating within company and regulatory safety requirements, including undertaking training, conducting risk assessments, reporting incidents and hazards, and participating in workplace investigations.QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30320).Strong safety focus.Proven track record of technical knowledge and strict adherence to on-road heavy vehicle maintenance, compliance with statutory requirements such as NHVAS, WAHVA, Worksafe & DMP.Demonstrated experience in repetitive routines at a consistent and steady pace, ensuring a focus on accuracy and maintaining a high quality of work.Ability to promptly and accurately diagnose faults safely, in a timely manner, emphasising efficiency.Ability to work effectively within established systems, standards, and procedures, showcasing a commitment to adherence and reliability.Ability to contribute to decision-making processes within a clearly defined job scope, aligning decisions with defined policies and procedures while being supported by management.Commitment to ongoing professional development and upkeep of technical knowledge and competencies.Effective communication skills with the ability to escalate issues and contribute to sound problem-solving.Ability to produce highly precise and accurate work, ensuring a meticulous approach to tasks and responsibilities.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to work both day and night 11-hour shifts.Additional InformationWhat's on Offer Residential position with a local leading transport company.$63.50 hourly rate plus more.Depot Wellness Hub - Massage Chairs, Infrared Sauna, Hyperbaric Chamber, Carol Bike, Yoga Room with more to come.Employee Assistance and Health & Wellbeing programs.Access to employee discounts, with up to 400+ retail stores.A state-of-the-art workshop and tooling for you to enjoy your work.Friendly and supportive team environment.About Us Establishing ourselves in 2020, Newhaul is not your average haulage provider.
